Columbia Economic Development Announces Partnership with GIS Planning

City of Columbia’s Economic Development Department has announced their partnership with GIS Planning, an online economic development solution for corporate site selection. GIS Planning's suite of tools provides real estate, demographic, labor force, and industry data to help investors select optimal geographic locations through powerful online mapping analysis.

The City of Columbia is honored to be the first client to utilize their ZoomBusiness tool. This tool has helped make choosecolumbiasc.com a one-stop information source for consumers looking for business openings, closings, and service level updates throughout the COVID-19 public health crisis.

Please join us on Tuesday, April 28th at 2PM to participate in GIS Planning’s webinar, “ZoomBusiness: How to support your local businesses during COVID-19,” as they use our department’s webpage to show consumers how the tool is benefiting our community. To register, please click here or sign up at www.gisplanning.com/webinars.

Quotes:

“Through our work with GIS Planning, we’ve been able to take our list of open restaurants and businesses and integrate it into the available properties map on our website, www.choosecolumbiasc.com. During this crisis, local businesses need every advantage we can give them and this is another tool in their arsenal to help mitigate the negative impact of COVID-19. As we continue to promote safe and responsible “Shop Local” practices, we hope our residents will take advantage of this service and continue to support our local businesses.” – Ryan Coleman, Director, Columbia Economic Development
