Columbia recently ranked #92 "Best Places to Live 2023-2024" and #4 "Best Place to Start a Career"

A Southern town with a modern twist, Columbia has seen an upward trajectory of growth in the last decade and there are no plans of slowing down any time soon.  The Capital City was recently ranked the #4 “Best Place to Start a Career” in WalletHub’s 2023 study, up four spots from 2022. The study examined 182 cities based on 26 metrics including job availability, income growth, unemployment, entry-level job availability, monthly average starting salary, and housing affordability. Of all South Carolina cities, only Columbia and Charleston made the list, with Charleston ranking #6.

The top two best cities to start a career, Atlanta (#1) and Orlando (#2), furthermore prove that the Southeast is a hub for industry growth and development.

As a booming capital city, Columbia was recently ranked #92 in the “Best Places to Live in the US 2023-24” by the U.S. News and World Report. As stated in the article, Columbia is small enough to have mild traffic but large enough to support retail, restaurants and hospitality that contribute to urban life. The ranking follows an analysis of 150 metropolitan areas in the United States to find the best cities to live due to quality of life, job market, etc. In addition, Columbia ranked #93 in Best Places to Retire and #5 in Best Places to Live in South Carolina.

With significant wins in the Palmetto State such as Scout Motors, we can anticipate more opportunities for development in Columbia.
